The End of Summer

A few weeks ago we attended the Parker reunion at Cherry Hills.
Jared loved the water and charged right in. Jake hates it and is scared of everything and of being splashed. He was afraid the dragon water slide was going to eat him. Michael loves it and thinks he can swim.

Michael and Jake loved the miniature golf. It is my favorite course as well. I love that tons of stuff moves and the holes are fun to play. I tied my Dad for the win.

Just relaxing after lunch.
Today was Michael's first day of school. He was pretty excited. We went in on Monday for his assessment and he did really well. He choose his seat and toured the classroom. We've been counting down the days.

He's pretty proud of his transformer backpack

This is Miss Morris his teacher. She seems really nice.
I can't believe I have a boy in kindergarten!

See, it's not just me

Michael and Jake went to spend a week with Grandma and Grandpa Davis.

Jake of course has pulled some tricks.

The first night we left he and Michael in bed and ran to the store. I guess no one mentioned to my dad that he should listen for them. When we got back there was an extremely strong smell in the house. Michael ran out of the bathroom and said, "Jake sprayed me in the face." Yeah right, like he's innocent. But we went in and Jake had climbed up on toilet and the bathroom counter, had gotten down my mom's makeup baskets and a bottle of perfume. He had completely emptied the bottle which had been about a 3rd full. (that's a lot of pumps!!!) The smell was so strong it made our eyes water and stayed in the house for 2 days.

My Dad told me earlier in the week my mom had made the boys breakfast and then went to do something (probably shower, or water the garden, or something productive )

Anyway, Michael runs into the bedroom and tells Grandpa that Jake is throwing his cocoa on the wall. Sure enough when he goes out, Jake is loading cocoa in the spoon and catapulting it against the wall.

Grandpa gave him a rag, made him clean it up, and told him if he EVER did it again, there would NEVER be anymore cocoa for Jake at Grandpa's house.

Way to be tough!

And in other news. This is a super cute conversation Michael had with Allie.
Last night he told Allie, "I love you." She said, "I love you more" to which he responeded, "I love you best." She told him, "I love you infinity". Michael thought for a minute and then said,
"I love you in California".

Oh! It makes me laugh! I guess Finity could be a place, but how does he know about California?

What do I do?

So following the Mascara day, Jake continued to have a messy week.
The next day I found him in the closet spraying hair gel on his hair (well mostly the floor and himself. Sorry no picture).
The day after than, it was peanut butter.
He knows what he is doing is wrong because he hides.
This is his favorite spot behind the couch and the tree.
He was eating the peanut butter with his hand and must have been wiping it on himself, the floor, and walls after each bite.
FYI: Not as easy as mascara to get off the carpet.

And then tonight, he and Michael were looking tired so I put them to bed a bit early. I let them watch a movie to help them stay in bed and relax. I checked on them part way through and Jake looked about asleep.
I guess not, because the next time I came up, I found this:

That's my makeup case with all the 2 foundations squeezed and poured out on the floor, on and in the bag, and tracked all over. He also painted himself with the mascara, found the eyeliner pencil for his legs, and had rubbed it into the bedspread, under the bed, over all my other makeup, and on his clothes. No pictures of him this time, because I don't want to encourage him.

This was the HARDEST to clean up. Foundation does not like to come off things, it just smears around on the other makeup cases, toys, and mat. Getting off the carpet took forever, and I think I'll have to do more tomorrow.

Let me just say how thankful I am for my Hoover carpet cleaning machine.

Only had to use it twice with Michael.

Jake on the other hand. . . .

If anyone has ideas, I'm all ears. The problem is he sneaks away and hides.

What am I going to do with this BOY!

I found my first gray hairs last night, and I am pretty sure they are all from this boy!! He is constantly looking for trouble, bouncing off the walls, and doing stuff he shouldn't. If I tell him not to do something, he does it in slow motion with a grin on his face!!
We were outside weeding and planting flowers. As I was cleaning up the tools and weeds, he disappeared. When I was done (maybe 5 or 10 minutes) I came inside and called his name, and heard thump, thump, thump, as he came running out of my bathroom upstairs.
He found my mascara.

This is what he looked like.
I know I shouldn't encourage him, but I couldn't help from busting up laughing.

Not only was it on him, but our tan carpet too.
Good thing it was washoff waterproof!

Yeah!!

Todd and I bought a King size bed back in January. I don't like my bedspread falling off each night, so I have been watching KSL for a bed frame. I am really excited about my find for $100. Not too bad :-)

Our Inch Worm

Jared is starting to crawl. Well, at least he inches along. This was taken last week and he is much faster now, but is still moving like this.

And, Just because he's cute. . .
