Christmas Day

We went to Grandpa and Grandma Nielsen's Christmas Eve to stay the night.
The boys got new pj's to wear to bed.

Santa came and left trains, a Wall-E toy, and Flashlights, just like they asked for.

New Christmas Clothes

The Rest of the Nielsen Bunch came over for lunch and our gift exchange. Here is my attempt at a group photo of all the cousins (expect for our Alaska Nielsens)

Thanks G & G Nielsen

At our house we opened our own Christmas.
The boys got new costumes which they had to put on immediately.

Me and my Boys.
Jake was being cuddly until Todd handed me Jared for a picture.
They really have issues with being touched by the baby.

Jared's Smile

Jared has started smiling and it is more than just gas. We think it is pretty cute.

Jared's Announcement

I finally finished Jared's Birth Announcement.

Todd's Spider

Todd made this awesome Spider for Halloween, and I forgot to post it. It scared Jake to death and he wouldn't go out the front door, but loved to look at it from the car. I heard some of the neighbor kids wouldn't come to our door because of it either. Maybe it's a little too good :-)

Funny Jacob

Thanks to Grandpa and Grandma Carter and the rest of the Carter Crew who came to visit Jared and to celebrate November birthdays. It is so nice to get together with everyone.

I do have to write this about Jake so we don't forget. Yesterday we were coming home from the store and Jared started crying because it was time to feed him. After a few minutes of it Jake says, "that's enough Jared." A few minutes later, "that's enough. Do you wanna time out?"

Todd and I started busting up. I must say that to Jake 10 times a day, but coming from him in his cute little voice, it was too funny.

Halloween

We carved some pumpkins that Grandpa Nielsen grew for us. Jake did not like to put his hands in. I forget how sticky it is.

Michael Loved it!! He said it was like a web.
The final products.
For our Costumes we went with a Star Wars theme. Todd is the bounty hunter, Jake is Yoda, Michael is a Jedi, and I am Princess Leah.

We didn't plan for Jared, but he makes a cute little Tiger.

Welcome Home Jared

We had a few more visitors at the Hospital, including Grandma and Grandpa Nielsen, Great Grandma Davis, Aunt Trudie, Gwen, and Aunt Steph. Thanks to everyone else for the calls and emails, and we look forward to seeing you all soon.

The boys have done really well with the baby. Michael doesn't really want to hold him, but Jake likes to if we let him. Otherwise they are pretty good to leave him alone or to be careful. The other day Michael was sitting by me and I had Jared in my lap. Michael asked, "Is this the baby's blanket?" because it was hanging off and touching his leg. I said yes, so he picked it up with 2 fingers and said, "I don't want it to touch me." This is pretty much his attitude.

He's Here!!

Jared Carter Nielsen
Born 1:49 pm
7 lb 7oz
20 inches long
Things went really smooth, very little pain, and a lot faster than the other 2. I am feeling great and Jared is doing well. Todd about passed out (like usual, Love you Babe), so he is also doing good and is a Proud Papa.

We were visted today by Aunt Trudie, Gwen, Allie, Grandpa and Grandma Davis, and Great Grandma Izatt. Here are a few pictures.

I didn't see a lot of people before I had him, and they wanted to see how big I was. Here you go. I know it looks big in the picture, but everyone I talked to was so surprised I was as far along. You're so small, is something I heard a lot, But I didn't feel small :)

Just letting everyone know I go in tomorrow (hopefully they have room) to have the baby. We'll let you know all the details soon after. We are pretty excited. Wish me luck!

At least they keep us laughing

Soccer

It has gone a bit better than baseball, I think because he gets to move all the time. It started rough as he liked to push, hit, bite, and wrestle the other players. The coaches often had to wrestle and chase him off the field, but now it is much better. He has even scored a few goals.

This is Michael's drawing of our family. Can you tell which one I am???

We visited Wyoming while Todd was in Alaska.
In this one, Jake was so tired, he fell asleep at dinner.

They love Dakota and she is so patient with them. I found them outside just sitting by her under Jake's blanket.

One night they stayed with Aunt Allison at her Apartment
and she bought them these knight outfits.
Michael loved his SO MUCH that he had to wear it everywhere, even to bathe.

Allison Discovered that Michael knows the Pledge of Alligence. I had no idea. He must have learned it at Preschool. (Way to go Ms. Ari!!) I forgot you can't turn the camera for video, so sorry it is sideways.

More Summer Fun

THINGS WE DID THIS SUMMER
We were able to take my train loving boys on the Heber Creeper.
It was a hot day and we sat in an outside car.
They loved the engine and were naming all the cars at the station.
Mom and the boys (Todd had to work)
The Boys with Grandma Davis

Excited for the ride.
(Note they are both wearing their favorite T-shirts, which they would wear everyday if I let them.)
We were Robbed!! Here is one of the Outlaws!

Stickum' Up!! Michael kept his hands up the whole time
(except when eating the chocolate coin they gave him.)

Jake and Derek with their hands in the air

Another thing Michael did was to take swimming lessons at Draper Pool.
We went twice a week for 3 weeks and he loved it!!
Jake wasn't into water this year, but maybe next year he can take some too.
We went to the Living Planet Aquarium and they were fascinated by all the animals.
Jake says this is a snake. Pretty close.
